A GreecexReader for one of my buddies: Lily
I don’t own anything except this story
“Rocket! Rocket!? Where are you, Rocket?” You called out, looking for your cat.
Earlier that morning, you were saying goodbye to your mother as she was going on a
business trip. Just as the door was closing, you saw Rocket walk out. When you opened the door
to get him, he sped off. You followed him in the general direction that he left.
“Rocket!” You called one last time before spotting him on someone’s lap.
The man looked up, and you blushed at how handsome he was. He had long hair for a
guy, with hair tips that barely brushed his shoulders, and emerald eyes. He also had a tired look
on his face.
“Is this...your cat?” He asked drowsily; you noticed that he had a Greek accent.
“Y–Yeah,” you stuttered, “he seems to like you.”
A small smile made its way on his face as you said that. He didn’t say anything; although,
he did stare at Rocket.
After a few seconds of silence, he said, “Cats tend to... like me.”
“Really?” You asked.
“Yes. Your cat here... he comes to me... almost everyday... If you want... you can take him back.”
He held up Rocket, who was struggling. You then smiled at how Rocket seemed to enjoy
spending time with this man. You patted Rocket’s head before returning to your conversation.
“He doesn’t seem to want to go home,” you pointed out, “maybe he should just stay here... I–I
mean, if that’s okay with you!”
“That’s perfectly fine with me,” the man said, “by the way...my name’s Heracles Karpusi... You
can visit your cat whenever you want... I guess.”
“Alright, then!” You chirped, “My name’s ________ ________. And my cat’s name is Rocket.”
“Wait... Here’s my address... if you forget it...”
You thanked him and waved goodbye... To both Heracles and Rocket. You had no idea
how to explain it to your parents, but you didn’t care. If seeing Heracles everyday meant getting
yelled at by your parents once, then you could take all the yelling in the world.
Night fell, and you got ready for bed. That night, you had a dream about Heracles, except
the two of you were grown up. The dream blurred until you found yourself in front of Heracles in
a tuxedo, surrounded by your friends and family. Your dream blurred again, and you saw
Heracles putting a hand on your stomach, smiling when you felt something kick.
The next thing you know, you sat up in your bed, blushing. Blinking a few times, you had
no idea what happened until you realized that you were just dreaming.
*Did I– Did I really just dream that?* You thought with wide eyes. You shook your head
thinking, *Bad _______! Bad _______! That’s not going to happen with someone who you just
The next morning, you walked to the kitchen groggily. After your dream, you couldn’t
sleep for the rest of the night. You were pouring your milk into your favorite cereal... until your
dad yelled at you because the bowl was overflowing with milk. You were about to put food into
Rocket’s bowl, but you remembered that Rocket was living with Heracles now.
“_______, where’s Rocket?” Your dad asked.
“Rocket...? I’m sure he’s just exploring outside... somewhere,” you lied, putting a spoonful of
cereal into your mouth afterwards.
“That’s unlike him...”
“Yeah... but, normal cats explore the outside, right?”“True... I hope he doesn’t get lost.” Your dad said solemnly.
When your dad left for work, you put some of Rocket’s favorite toys and one of his
favorite snacks inside your small backpack (which was used in situations like this). You locked
the door behind you as you stepped outside. Reading the paper on which Heracles’ address was,
you jogged to his house.
Heracles was sitting outside at his porch just like yesterday with Rocket napping on his
lap. He looked up as you walked up to him.
“I hope Rocket hasn’t already given you trouble,” you said, a little out of breath, “sometimes, he
can be a real handful.”
“It wasn’t...any trouble... Rocket’s a peaceful cat.” He said, looking at you.
Looking at Heracles, you realized at how calm and peaceful he made things. You felt as if
you could just fall asleep then and there...
“_______?...Are you alright?” Was the last thing you heard.
...And you fainted...At his house.
Your eyes fluttered open, and you sat up quickly. Your head turned to see your unknown
surroundings. Not knowing where you were, you began to panic.
“_______... You’re awake...” A sleepy voice said; you heard some relief in its voice.
“Heracles...? Am I in your house?” You asked, still looking around.
“Yes you are...You passed out in my porch...” He said.
“I’m sorry to trouble you, then,” you said, blushing from embarrassment.
“It’s not... a problem...” He said, “would you like anything?”
“...Some water would be nice...”
Heracles nodded his head and headed towards his kitchen (at least that’s what you
thought) for some water.
Pappapara~ Pappapara~ Look, here comes the 'pinch hitter’~ .” Your ringtone blared.
You fumbled with your phone until you finally got your shaky fingers to answer: “Hello?”
“_________? Where are you? You’re not at home,” your dad said.
“Sorry, Daddy!” You cried, “I’m just at a friend’s house.”
“Be back soon, you hear me? You’re going to be in big trouble for leaving without permission!”
You sighed a “yes” to your dad before turning your phone off. You saw Rocket walking
around the room, so you picked him up and began to play with his paws. At one point, you
started to make Rocket do a small dance, which made you go into a series of giggles.
Heracles walked into the room and saw you playing with Rocket. He smiled softly at the
scene before him. You looked up at him and blushing, out of both embarrassment and his smile.
Heracles handed you a glass of water, which you gratefully accepted.
“You seem to like Greece,” you said, looking at the Greek maps, gods/goddess, some old relics,
“Yeah...My mom...She would tell me... all about Ancient Greece...and mythology... and her
childhood there... I used to spend a lot of time in Greece,” Heracles explained.
“Oh.” Was all you said.
Despite you turning off your phone, it somehow sprang back to life, for you and Heracles
heard “Pappapara~ Pappapara~” You quickly turned off your phone before the ringtone could
blare anything else.
Looking at Heracles with a sad face, you said, “I guess that’s my cue to get home before dad gets
You got off the couch that you laid on.“Wait!” Heracles said.
You turned around to face him only to have his lips crash onto yours. You blushed at the
contact. When Heracles pulled away, he handed you a hair band with cat ears attached.
“I think I love you,” he said, with a smile.
“I know I love you,” you replied, coming to an end with your conflicted emotions.
“Then...Think of these cat ears... as your first gift,” he said, “from your new boyfriend...”
